Information Disorder

3 Stories believes works to further human-centered and back-end approaches to addressing the communications challenge of our time: information disorder, or the proliferation of mis- and disinformation in our spaces. Services include:

  • PR and thought leadership support for disinformation researchers, journalists and policy experts
  • Delivering community-based trainings on how to recognize mis- and disinformation and disrupt its spread, as part of her Truth in Common initiative
  • Managing the Truth in Common newsletter
  • Speaking on disinformation for groups such as International Association of Business Communicators and Globally Conscious Peacemakers

Mission Partners and Cybersecurity for Democracy — As part of the Mission Partners team, Deanna provides communications counsel for NYU’s Cybersecurity for Democracy, whose lead researchers were deplatformed by Facebook in August 2021. Deanna helps disseminate C4D’s and Laura Edelson’s research, testimonies and more, and supports C4D’s Twitter feed, digesting breaking research in the space and building a strong following among researchers, reporters, civil society organizations and C4D partners such as Knight Columbia, all of whom are working actively to disrupt the spread of mis- and disinformation.
